Simulator skills

We specialise in hiring out airplane simulators, providing linked services and conducting the associated training courses. As our simulators and the simulator centre represent a substantial financial investment, it is essential that before using these facilities independently, customers should familiarise with the conditions of using the simulators, health and safety regulations and our Standard Operating Procedures. They must be aware of the capabilities of the simulators, and must be prepared for unusual circumstances.

To this end, we offer a training course in Simulator Skills to groups of prospective customers. Participation is a prerequisite of using the simulators. The course lasts 4 hours, and participants will acquire the following knowledge and skills:

After successfully completing the course, customers can hire and use the simulators independently, and may enrol on our training courses.

Participation is free (although a rental option is required), and the course is held at a time arranged so as to suit your requirements. Please check back soon for the downloadable course handbook.

Of course, you can also use the simulators and enjoy our flight programmes without taking part in the course. In this case, you will be assisted by our friendly and expert staff.

Virtual Pilot Training

Pilots must acquire and develop various skills before their professional permit is issued and they can start working on commercial airplanes. They must get familiar with a wide range of areas, from technology to meteorology, from flight procedures to human anatomy.

Although our simulators are designed to provide a realistic flight experience, amateur pilots looking only to have a good time do not need to acquire all of the above skills. Their training is therefore a lot more focussed, covering only what they must know about using the simulators and flying the airplane model of their choice. This targeted training course will prepare anyone for the experience of flying a 70-80 ton airplane from Budapest to London, transporting 175 passengers and several dozen tons of cargo safely, no matter the weather.

The objective of these training courses is not to help the participants obtain official certification but rather to teach the basics of using the simulators effectively. After completing the course, customers can be sure that no matter their level of previous knowledge, they will have a better understanding of flying, and ultimately more fun using our simulators.

Planned courses:

Introducing the A320
Learn the operation of the Airbus A320 aircraft.
Introducing the B738
Learn the operation of the Boeing B737-800NG aircraft.
MCC – Multi Crew Cooperation
Cooperation of the on-board crew on airplanes that require the effective and coordinated work of two pilots, such as the A320 or the B737.
ME/IFR – Multi Engine/Instrument Flight Rules
Learn to fly multi-engine aircraft; prepare for losing an engine, and practise what needs to be done in such an eventuality; complete instrument flight exercises.
SOP – Standard Operation Manual
Learn about the operation and flight procedures of HighFly Virtual Airlines. HighFly endeavours to ensure that its procedures are based on those of actual airlines, and are in line with the requirements of the different aircraft models.
Regulations
This course, organised on individual request, offers an introduction to the regulations and requirements governing flight. This will allow participants to gain a much more broad-based understanding of the operation of modern commercial airlines.
Communication
Radio communication course in English. It provides essential knowledge to those who wish to make use of the “real ATC” air control service. In addition to being a great deal of fun, the course provides participants with extensive and very useful basic knowledge of the field.

Real Pilot Training

HighFly Aviation can help you acquire the basic skills needed to operate an airplane, and can prepare you for flying in real life, and even for becoming a professional pilot. Our centre is the ideal location for high-quality training courses. Our courses are organised and conducted in a manner that not only fully satisfies the requirements of JAR-FCL, but also ensures through bilateral agreements that all of our students receive JAR-FCL certification in accordance with their level.

This is essential for those who wish to use their certification for professional purposes in Europe or anywhere else in the world. JAR–FCL is a golden standard in flight, which guarantees that the skills and knowledge of pilots on each level are identical, regardless of in which country or in what sort of environment they gained their qualification. It is our objective to launch and promote this standard.

Our range of courses covers the entire process of becoming a commercial pilot, from learning the basics to taking the professional examinations. We provide a unique environment in which students can apply and develop their theoretical knowledge in practice immediately. An IFR pilot (i.e. one who can follow instrument flight rules) who studied with us will have gained experience in following multi-engine high-speed IFR as captain, with live air traffic control and under bad weather conditions. This is an additional advantage that is not available from any other company on the market at an affordable price. HighFly offers to its customers the possibility to obtain up-to-date and extensive knowledge, on which to build a successful future career.

We are going to take an active part in the recruitment procedures of several expanding airlines, which means we can help our students acquire and practise the skills needed for successful future applications.

Our courses are available at the following levels:

PPL – Private Pilot Licence
Basic training for those wishing to fly single-engine aircraft for private purposes. The training course includes the required number of flight hours using a modern training airplane. The PPL course and a sufficient number of flight hours is the essential basis for any further pilot training.
IFR – Instrument Flight Rules
Familiarisation with the instrument flight rules. This course prepares students for safely flying an aircraft while referring only to the on-board instruments. The training provided by HighFly also covers procedures for multi-engine and modern EFIS aircraft.
ME – Multi Engine
Theoretical and practical aspects of flying multi-engine aircraft. The course also prepares students for losing an engine.
CPL – Commercial Pilot Licence
Commercial pilot training course, including a six-month course on theory and the required number of flight hours. This course provides participants with all the knowledge that is essential for commercial pilots. The theoretical course is supplemented by practical experience gained through completing actual commercial flights.
ATPL – Airline Transport Pilot Licence
Leads to certification as an airline transport pilot, capable of captaining an aircraft and cooperate with other pilots. This certificate requires the highest level of theoretical knowledge.
MCC – Multi Crew Cooperation
Cooperation of the on-board crew on airplanes that require the effective and coordinated work of two pilots, such as the A320 or the B737.
DGR – Dangerous Goods Regulations
Transportation of hazardous materials.
Flight Procedures
This course covers both theoretical and practical aspects, and provides students with useful knowledge and experience of performing various flight procedures using modern and fast passenger aircraft, under realistic flight conditions. The training includes the analysis of the situation, the use of flight maps, appropriate division of labour, completing documentation and emergency procedures. This training course provides the ultimate practical advantage, as the up-to-date practical skills acquired will prove indispensable for completing everyday flights. We are the only company to offer this option!
Jet Transition Course
This course allows students to move on from slower aircraft to high-speed airplanes, to acquire the necessary theory, and use the simulator to experience the impact on the flight experience.
Mastering the B738
Comprehensive course led by an active trainer captain.
Mastering the A320
Comprehensive course led by an active trainer captain.
Communication
Radio communication course.
